Insider,

The market listened to VLSI's earnings warning and the stock promptly declined from 25 to 19 when the news was released. It then came down even more to a low of 17 1/4 yesterday. Stock prices are driven by supply and demand based on investor's perceptions about future earnings and to some degree by expectations for interest rates. VLSI is not going to 0 just because they announced that their earnings this quarter won't meet expectations. I have posted on more than one occasion that I think earnings of no greater than 11 cents are factored into the price of the stock at this point. Anything better than that and the stock easily moves over 20 IMO. You have to look further ahead then the next earnings report and ignore news that is already publicly available (for the most part) to make any sense out of how stocks trade.
