bayhead:There are 2 ways to face upto an earnings shortfall. The first method is for senior Mgmt and Finance to be tight lipped about it and to face the street 3-4 weeks ahead of earnings with a pre announcement. The other method is for the same news to leak to their Analyst and they put out the equivalent. In doing so, Mgmt safe face and the Analyst look mighty intelligent. As a seasoned observer, I was expecting the echo and it came.
