Yeshua... There are no written records that Jesus was ever called Yeshua in the Christian Church. The Jewish disciples called Jesus by the Greek name Yesus which became Jesus in our English language . All of the Holy Spirit inspired New Testament Scriptures used Yesus. Greek was the universal language of the Middle East, Asia Minor and Egypt during the days of Jesus. Greek was also the language of most Jews during the days of Jesus. Most Jesus used the Greek version of the Scriptures called the Septuagint. The Greek version of the Scriptures was officially recognized and accepted by the Jewish leadership for almost 300 years before the birth of Jesus. An exception was the Qumran community who gave us the Dead Sea Scrolls used the Hebrew Scriptures almost exclusively as a reaction to this practice. Jesus on the other hand used the Greek version of the Scrpitures. This can be determined by looking at Jesus' quotations from the Old Testament. The quotations are mostly from the Septuagint. The Apostles continued in the footsteps of Jesus and used the Septuagint Old Testament. The Apostles and Disciples also used the Greek language to write down the Holy Spirit inspired New Testament. For 17 hundred years God used the isolatinist and tribal Hebrew language to record His inspired Words under the Old Covenant. To emphasize the universal nature of the New Covenant, God moved from the restricted and isolated language of Hebrew to the universal language of Greek. During the days of Jesus the whold world spoke and understood the Greek language. This shift of languages by God clearly tells mankind that there is nothing holy in a language, but that a language is simply for the transmission of ideas. For the last 2000 years the Hebrew word Yeshua has been used exclusively by those who read and follow the Babylonian Talmud and opposed to Jesus. The Toledot Yeshu is the primary example of this usage in the last 2000 years. The Toledot is simply the History of Jesus from a talmudic point of view. The Toledot Yeshu is used primarily to train Rabbis and Yeshiva students into a false Talmudic understanding of the life of Jesus. The Toledot is mostly irrational and unhistorical talmudic "Jewish fables". The usage of Yeshua by some twentieth century so-called messianic Jews is an ignorant and prideful attempt to claim that they know the real name of Jesus.
