Code numbers are adopted, not necessarily paid...

Yes, medical insurers adopt code numbers for medical procedures, but the issue is whether the procedure is recongized as a subscriber benefit. The aodption of the code number does not guarantee payment. There are alot of CPT-4 codes that aren't paid by most insurers, for example Multiple Sleep Latency Trials.

Seems to me that if traditional forms of bilirubin monitoring are paid for, I see not reason why Colormate wouldn't be paid for if it has been validated.
