Just did a check of the support line on the xau at equis.com One needs "java" software system to access. Sometimes the first chart (indu) does not immediately come up even though it appears that loading has ended. One needs to wait awhile until the chart pops up.

Anyway, the XAU symbol on this site is xau.x After you pull it up, change the bar option to a "line" or closing price only option. Then amazingly one can draw in ones on line on these chart (right onto the screen) I drew a line from the Jan 12 low to the end of Feb 1998 low and so far that line does not appear to have been broke. BUT the day is not over.

Another source of daily XAU charts is quote.yahoo.com The symbol is ^xau Their short term charts are in "line" formate. One can mentally draw in the support line there also.

Eyeballing the charts, I say that today's support line is at 72.50 or there abouts.

I think I'm confused... are we now in the second wave of an up cycle?
