That fact didn't stop AMAT from trading at 11 and change
(split-adjusted) during the '96 downturn.

Your post was so highly technical I'm sure he was the only person who
had even a small shot at "interpreting it correctly".

About your "safely ignoring" the near-term "noise", the market seems to be doing a good job of ignoring a lot of weak fundamentals for today at least, but I'm not sure how "safe" that idea is. That's a decision each of us has to make on our own in my view.
