I'm not sure that DISH's orbital slots ARE superior. I think they are just more numerous, that's all. From here in the Northeast, DISH's slot at 119 is a lot closer to the horizon, although it is higher out west.

From my knowledge of satellite, I believe that 101 is the best slot overall.

Of course, DISH has the most slots/freqs of any DBS player, and that is surely an advantage. Perhaps this is what was meant.
