Re: Wolf

Ian,

FWIW, I agree that much of what is currently being posted is drivel and not much use to those who are looking for information to use to invest. We are in the midst of a downturn, yes. However, most of the stocks in the equipment group have already fallen 50-70%, indicating the market has more than discounted a slowdown in the tech sector, at least for the immediate future. To jump up and down now, after most stocks have plummeted from last year, is akin to financial foolishness. What we want to ascertain is whether or not there is a recovery 6-9 mos down the road. We don't need any self proclaimed oracles(aki, this means you!) telling us what we and Mr. Market already know. When you see SVGI warn and MU fall short and MTSN warn, and the market does not punish us, do you really believe this info is not already impounded into the share prices????

BK

BTW,
aki and all self-proclaimed wise persons of the AMAT thread, underperformance by the SOX for any 6-12 month period has always been followed by one of substantial outperformance. We are headed into month 7 of the current downturn. Draw your own conclusions.

Doug re" I, for one appreciate the comments from Aki, Teri, Dave, BB and the like as well as the comments from all of the bulls . It makes it a lot easier to weigh the relative risk and rewards of buying or not buying at this time." Thanks for posting this. I agree. Alice
