I will be long on TXN some other times, but not
this time. The warnings of lower earning coming out
lately in technology sector just look scary to me.

I take a completely different view. I have in my hand a press release coming out in the morning for Spectrum Signal Processing announcing they're shipping products on C6X Rev 2 silicon. To my knowledge this is the first for TI's revolutionary DSP chip.

Michael Hames is quoted as saying, "Spectrum's experienced engineering team completed development of the Detroit board in February --- a month ahead of schedule. The early completion of the Detroit board will allow Spectrum's sales team to deliver some of the DSP industry's first few 'truly usable' Rev 2 C6x-based products to two large commercial customers a month earlier than expected. . . ."

Ron Wages, SSPIF's VP of Marketing, says, " We are very proud to be one of only a handful of companies prepared to deliver 'C6x product with Rev 2 silicon.. . . We are amazed at the demand we are receiving for our single-processor Detroit solution. . . "

This announcement makes it clear the C6X is successful in Rev2 silicon and will soon be shipping in quantity.

You may be right about TI having lower earnings this quarter --- they've already said as much at the analysts meeting --- but the tide is turning and I wouldn't want to be short when the word gets out.

Just my take.
