Bateman, his job isn't to make market inferences. He's not a commentator, he's a reporter. There's a difference between cutting to a shot of someone like Al Kashen on the floor of the NYSE and letting Al Kashen make an inference, and cutting to a shot of someone who's a member of the financial media functioning in a news gathering capacity during market hours and having them make an on-camera inference.

Would you agree that there's a difference between a) having a technician sitting down in front of a camera and sharing his knowledge with viewers and b) a member of the financial media reinterpreting what was told to him by a technician and actually drawing the lines himself live on-camera from memory? You're a viewer. I ask you which is better a or b?

We make mistakes on trades. We are wrong on calls. We will always make mistakes and be wrong. That's the nature of trading - there's an element of uncertainty that no amount of effort and preparation is ever going to eliminate.

News isn't like that. There is a correlation between effort/preparation and output.

And look, when you're trading you're not only doing what Pisani is doing (i.e. you've sort of got this running internal commentary going on in your head), you're doing that AND putting on positions.

And Pisani is the one who has made technical analysis part of his "news coverage" of MU. So it's fair game to question why when he was sitting there doing a segment on TA, fully aware of the fact that MU had reported, even going so far as to mention that fact on-camera - he ended up passing.

Never seen Laurie Dhue.
Wish the country had never seen Paula jones <g>

Good trading,
