>> IQX, Net-arm, Gigamux are the "catch of today" but they have a lot of old fishes before :switches, hub, FDDI, ISDN routers, wireless.... you name it.<<

Except for FDDI these were common products headed towards commoditization. Which is why the former companies sold them off. It was getting to be a crowded market. The IQX is not such a special product either which is why it was the first. A somewhat simple but necessary product they needed to offer of which none of the aquired companies had.

The gigamux is a blend of the FDDI technology. This is not so common and coming from Cray I have to think it is pretty good. Sun recommends Osicom for FDDI adapters, so the technology must be up to par. The Net+ARM is a one of a kind product that Osicom helped designed. If the old products were so great they wouldn't have been spun off. I am really amazed that they maintained such a good sales level to this point. Some comapnies they bought had very little market for their goods, the video on demand company was a company with hardly a market at all as it was originally thought we'd all have video on demand in our homes. We may still yet, but it didn't pan out when this company was ready with a product.

It really comes down to these new products. Are they good enough, is there a market for them and can Osicom meet the demands of that market. These questions have yet to be answered. They will be very soon.
