Brian... I am aware that there were mergers... what I am saying is that there have been none recently... and that this is imo because people assume that the co's will trade more cheaply in the future.

Also I have made it perfectly clear... without the anger and spite the seems to meet my opinion that I am a long term bull, but that I belive we have not seen the bottom yet... that things are worse than I thought they would be and that I think we will revisit 27 again... I have also said that I might well prove to be wrong.. but that I am prepared to take that risk, because my investment style is to invest in companies or market segments that have over-reacted to the downside... today I bought SLB --- it fits my bill... u disagree fine but why not be nice about it... wha does it cost u, marc or ian to say hey... he may be crazy but its a voice... finally it has been said that I am talking the market down to suit my own position... I am but a lone voice on a thread whose total holdings probably amount to one decent sized block trade... I don't think so... true when I sold I picked up a few puts...why not I sold because I thought the stock was going down... and I didn't like what I heard on the cc... does that color my judgment any more that you are margined long... I doubt it... we pay our money and we make our own choices.
