<<OT Gary's rule for trading tech stocks>>

Gary,
Great post.

Every word true.

It's to bad that we all learn the hard way. But that's better than not learning at all.

Lets face it, 'The one with the most when he (she) dies, wins'.

I just realized that the great thing about this thread is that we can share our ASND misery.
It allows us to go on.

Joe

Gary, Your name is very befitting. Thanks for the rules as they most certainly apply. I Only wish you had posted earlier, as I violated rule # 3 and purchased BAY this morning <ggg>

I've been a lurker/shareholder since last June and I'm in long @
an average of ~33.7/share , first time post (sounds like a beginning to an AA meeting - that's Ascenders Anonymous :-0). I spend most of
my nights trying to keep up with 39,000+ posts so I enjoy this thread very much. As other new posters have stated many thanks to Gary(s), Jan, blankmind, Dennis, pat, djane, Glenn, (yes even Tim) etc. for their insights.

Just a couple of observations/questions, are people panicking a little
bit or are they day traders getting caught in the daily gyrations? It
seems like one day people say we're headed for 60, the next sub 30.

Personally, I think it is both, over the long term we're going to
have these bumps, but hopefully we've seen the last of the sub 30's but with the fear/greed mentality in this market who knows?

We can only account for the analysis of information
readily available to us and previous posts have stated that ASND is
going to meet the numbers for this quarter, has good products/market share (as good as tech companies get) and predicted reasonable growth over the next several quarters.

I'm rather new to investing so stop making me nervous :-) but I can't stop reading!! (BTW, does anybody know what the closing price of ASND
will be tomorrow? ;-)

As far as investors relations, can't we get together to make someone, oh, like Gary K, (if I can refer to god directly) an official rep. for
this list and let the Ascend IR know who and how much we can account for. It's one thing for him to say he's from SI it's another to present to them who he is the voice of? Comments?

Gary, those are pretty solid rules for making money in the market. Too bad it's easier said than done. I've chased a few stocks all the way down thinking I'm getting a better bargain every time. NOT! I've also tried to hop on that dead-cat bounce after a stock has been pummeled overnight. The only one which I should have pounced on was ORCL (from 19 to 29 in 1 qtr - not bad). I don't know about the 'telling friends' about picks. Just superstitious? Because I very much doubt ANY and ALL of them combined could move any holdings I have. You probably could have paid for 3 years of an MBA program for the lessons you've learned so far, I guess. And I got the advice for free. Thanks.
