RE: continuing longs

Count me in, to.

For a thorough analysis of what's wrong with IOM go to TMF, IOM in fooldom andd read the first post.

A great analysis.

I agree with the split idea sucked, however, could it have been that something went wrong and unexpected?

Tom, <No, you're not the only longs. I'm still here, trying to get
twenty per cent a year out of this company for my money. I think
Linda Pearson is also still with us. And Jak! It's going to be
a long haul for us all, I'm afraid>

Still here...and have not even waded through the many, many, many posts...

I've got my own opinions...I reevaluate EVERY day....If the expectations for earnings are anemic enough, then the Wall Street Game can be played out positively here.

And, ROCKY, if you read this...Shorting here?!? Really..you are OUT of YOUR mind! Your maximum profit is 7 3/8! Many other companies worth the time and effort.

I'll just continue to shake my head at you. TSK TSK.

Lighter in the Wallet..
(I wish I could lose weight as fast as I have lost money here!!)

Linda

Still here.

Tom and all,

I knew I'd stay through thick 'n thin. Well, it's thin just now. The thing that bothers me the most is Iomega's sluggishness in bringing out new products. Iomega hired an awful lot of people for their R&D group. What's taking so long to get the products out?

While we've all been happy with the marketing scheme of sticking with a 100 MByte Zip, I now think it's time for a higher capacity version. The present sales appear to have flattened - so I don't think a higher capacity Zip will hurt the Zip100 sales all that much. In fact, a higher capacity version may spark more interest. What should a higher capacity Zip hold? I think 200 MBytes wouldn't be worth the effort. The fat Zip should be at least 500 MBytes, cost about $150, and be backward compatible with the Zip100.

The trend toward small hand held devices (cameras, computers, phones, etc.) is real - so Clik! will be relevant, as will the tiny hard drive IBM recently talked about. However, I think Clik! ought to start with 100 MBytes out of the gate. Clik! and Zip should be available in firewire, as that's how all the new hardware will connect together.

I've been waitin' for the new amazin' stuff. I ain't impressed yet.

Jeff
