Mark, to be controlled by the Spirit of God is to want to help those needy ones that are set in your path.
Rom:
"5 Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
6 The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;
7 the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so.
8 Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.
9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.
11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
12 Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.
13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,
14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."

James

Mark, a quick good morning to you.

About your answer to me. I was amazed at what a sweet honest one it was. I can see how you would hold people of Afro descent up after having a very close and loving true friendship with someone who obviously helped you make it through a very difficult time. You were quite fortunate in that.

You sound like you have been anything but a "woose". can't spell it
Good for you. I like backbone, even if it is not always the best behavior. That's a flaw of mine, I'm sure.

Your life is rather an inspiration, actually.

Very glad you're here.

I think in a lot of ways your answer to me also answers your question to me sometime ago, which I did not ignore, I just had to put aside while doing pointless battle with pagan persons, where probably I don't belong for more than 2 minutes a year anyway. You have an area where you feel very, very comfortable, and at this point it is much wider than mine, as I have specifically moved to a place of physical beauty which is not a melting pot at all. Not at ALL. Therefore, I am surrounded for the most part with the rather quiet and boring and familiar, and it brings me much peace of mind and very little concerns of another nature. That would be my answer to you. I hope that answers your question to your satisfaction. Nor do I have any desire to find anything different from what I have here. If anything, I would like to move to more of it, but less people in general and a lot more of the creation I totally adore with all my heart in every aspect. So I have my eye on Montana, which is of course the end of that and will soon disappear itself into the vast melting pot some of us have been running from for years.

It is your free will to love the melting pot, as it is my free will to chose to not be forced one way or another to like it or dislike it. Can you respect that? I certainly hope so. To say I had no right to seek anything but stress, crime and choas and like it is a little insane. THat is Greystoke, and I will no longer interact with him as his thought patterns come from a different source. He uses pure truth of the matter and fact, and turns it as a battering instrument. But he is free to be here, and will probably be here as long as there is a thread called askgod. That's fine with me. I just don't come here very often for obvious reasons.

I would like to leave you with a thought to ponder when you have quiet time. I can tell you of a pure truth, you will find that all of the good behind your life which has brought you this far has a name:
Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God. I trust this knowledge will grow in your heart.
