Joe, you must be right because that would explain why AMD will make a profit of $1.5 Billion (with a B) and Intel will lose maybe $100 Million (with an M) this quarter. Or am I confused?

I do see a lot of K6 offerings in the retail outlets. I think AMD might have a winner in its portable offering but probably still has the same old yield, bin and manufacturability problems. I suspect that any lead that they have in portables is real transitory.

If AMD solves its manufacturing problems within the next three months there is a chance that they can become solvent and more than a little annoyance for Intel. If their current malaise lasts longer than that, Sayonara.

Good luck and good investing,
Burt
