<<noone seems to be crowing about their 50% gain from the 6s to the 9s...i spose that's a sign this is a more adult thread.>>

Hi Mike,

I do have some of those 50% gains from 6 to 9 only because I bought down to lower my overall price which is still at 14. Sooner or later someone is going to take this outfit over. That is my gut feeling. Actually the safe way to play this company is through their convert bonds, the 6.5% of 11/01 which are selling for about 86.

I don't know much about BASF except that about two years ago or so just before IVAX went into free fall, BASF had a bunch of IVAX stock and it looked as if they were going to take IVAX over. Then when the stock price fell it looked as if BASF might provide some financial support to IVAX in order to keep it afloat and to protect their investment. Well, I don't think that any of this has happened but apparently BASF still has an interest in IVAX which is good news since in my mind this will provide some assurance that IVAX continues.

hello???Many of us bought this puppy at prices in the teens--some even higher. It has been adult of us not to be angrier and more critical of management, which has cost us many thousands. Gains?? not until the teens.
