Brian, explanation for poor performance of Intel 266 MHz notebooks.

With a "4X" clock multiplier (66 MHz bus x 4 = 266 MHz CPU clock), the CPU really takes a hit anytime intructions or data are not in the L1 cache. The K6 has a bigger L1 cache and, besides that, gets more done in one clock cycle.
