Henry - thanks for your reply. In light of your former relationship with the company, I expect you're well-informed. Again, when you speak of the products, goes well over my head. A friend mentioned SUGN - you have any thoughts comparing the two?

Peter

<< LGND is starting to pull out. Time to hop on board. >>

Henry, can't agree with you on this one.

Short term there might be a few press releases and the stock might move up a few.

Long term? This is a company with no current earnings. It is better, usually, to find a market leader with a history of increasing earnings. These are, factually speaking, the companies most likely to actually break out and perform dramatically well over a period of years.

LGND is not in that posture. It has no earnings. It has played around in a range for more than a year, press releases notwithstanding. It may play around in the same range for another year or two. Sound long term investing strategy is to find companies with better financial histories.

I know this is the "favorite company" of a few people, but in reality it is just another of many biotechs. It is not even mentioned in some biotech investing commentators' list of top picks. Investing any chunk of cash now in LGDD for the long term isn't one of the better investment choices one could make. IMHO.
