As to why AIPN would do other deals than Kazakstan. Little oil companies become big oil companies by doing a wide variety of deals.
The more deals the bettter, the more leverage the bettter. The more holes you drill the more oil you can find, at least in theory. Other previously little companies like AIPN get partnerships/concessions/misc rights and deals and they become big.I think that this deal with Russia is good because it tells me that they have more fish to fry and are looking to become a big company not just a Kazakstan concession holder.
