Carl,
I am not an expert on these processes myself but will pass on what I hear and ask some questions. I'll also speculate a bit if folks don't mind. My growing suspicion is that the treatment of the ore is not a black and white issue. It is not 'to grind or not to grind, to treat or not to treat'. As many things there is probably a complex matrix of results from the ore depending on how it is handled. What is the Johnson-Lett process as we know it but grinding and treating? The grinding in the Johnson-Lett process is no different in nature from what was apparently done on the material in table 1. Only different in degree. My suspicion is that the Johnson-Lett process will develop into a continuum of grinding and treatment. That after analysis and further investigation we will find a crossover point between the optimum amount of treatment and grinding and cost effectiveness. That has always been the issue in my mind. What is exciting to me in these numbers is that if the results from table 1 hold up across the playa it establishes a baseline for production that is viable. That means we are not dependant on J-L to have a viable property but, and this is important, J-L holds the real prospect of enhancing yields. This would serve to significantly reduce downside risk while keeping the upside possibilities open. I hope this isn't to convoluted.
