James,
I accept and love God and believe he has never left us. He is a God of love and compassion. When the time comes for judgement I am prepared to be judged by what is in my heart and how I have lived my life. If I have erred I will accept my fate. This is how I have chosen to celebrate God.
Henry

James
Why would God need to seperate with a sword?(assuming the need to seperate) Couldnt he do it without "lightening and thunderbolts"
Could this representations of God, be understandable misrepresentations of the truth from an age, where that type of thinking was more critical?
That, for me, is the crux of the problem with taking literal translations from the BIble. It does not fit with, what I percieve, to
be a more enlightened viewpoint. Personally I consider the bible to be parables. Methods of learning from god's word. If God were going to make a "manual" for behavior(thereby EFFECTIVELY ERASING MAN'S FREE WILL) the manual would not be given to us in a form that can be interpreted in so many different ways.
