Thanks for the expanded coverage, yes this is somewhat of a worry as a silver bull, I am very happy because as we all know bull markets climb a wall of worry.

see analyst view below

"The selloff in silver was technically based with funds
liquidating long positions on the break down below $6.00 an ounce
again and the deterioration in several key technical indicators,"
said Credit Lyonnais Rouse chief bullion dealer Scott Mehlman in
New York.

In February, spot silver prices saw nine year highs around $7.90
on news Warren Buffet controlled about 15 pct of estimated above
ground silver inventories.

"Although the acute supply tightness of early February has
vanished, the narrow spread relationships would suggest a
relatively tight supply situation, which is likely to become
tighter if another global supply shortfall occurs in 1998," said
Salomon Smith Barney analyst David Rinehimer.

Silver has a history of being a market that can go to extremes, still looking for higher prices in the next 2-3 years. thanks CRL for keeping me grounded now that printed circuit boards will not need silver, the other side of the "coin" is that new uses are discovered for silver all the time. You might checkout the silver institute web's page for this information. The most significant use to me in recent times is water purification, certainly a valuable commodity to the species.

A lot of PCBs are recycled and the various metals recovered (including silver) and more PCBs will be recycled in the future. All advanced countries have plans to outlaw electronic scrap from landfill etc - all electronic scrap will have to be recycled.
