Of course there is. Those events are well-correlated and would pass any statistical test. Just as there is a correlation between the S&P 500 moving higher and any stock chosen at random moving higher. The arguments against charting and timing are based on empirical statistical studies. The arguments favoring timing are based on anecdotes, blatant assertion and religious fervor.
