There is no Apple-sanctioned upgrade these days...years ago you could pay a huge amount and get the 540c screen in a true, Apple-offered upgrade. These days IMHO the best, if not only strategy, is to sell the 520c, say, for $500-$650, and then buy a 540c for, say $800-$1000...end result (upgrade) is achieved.

Or - note that your same $1000 now will put you into the 5300cs easily, and with some vendors, even the active-matrix 5300c units.
