Simple but elegant first approach investment secrets.

In equity, bottom fishing by price; after visiting the company and meeting the management. Checkout the angel(money investor already owns the company) who may have sufficient reserve to help the company(financial planning for the company). And try management consulting for the company to have a refocus and re-engineering effort. When the company adopts a program to improve and increase investor's value; you are on the way to investment success. Do not look for short term gains. Buy-in at the beginning and never average your cost up, for maximum profit. Expect many 1000% gains over the years, by working with the management. Only sell if you need small redemptions for personal use. This investment is probably better than any other investments, so don't switch.

In bonds, understand step ladder investment method. Common approach is to invest in bonds which mature each year equally for a ten year period. Each year when the 1/10 of your bonds paid out; you use it for expenses as well as reinvest or roll it over. Very safe and always give you cash to average your portfolio for the next 10 years. You may try any where from 2 to 10 year period; but 10 year averages the best. For the first year, buy 30 year bond which matures the next year. And so on and so forth.
