Banker's are keeping an eye on this one. Jeff, I had a similar experience. I built a house for an ex-VP of First Mutual Bank. He's retired from banking but active in real estate. A month ago I went to his office to get his take on another internet bank planning to go public. He was skeptical at first but as I went on about it he decided to call his son-in-law who is a lawyer in Atlanta. Turns out his son-in-law is a member of the law firm that helped NTBK go public. I could see his ears perk up as his son-in-law was going on about the early signs of success AIB was showing. So naturally I bought in. Since then he has faxed me several news clippings from the Atlanta Constitution and American Banker Magazine. You bet these old guys are taking notice. But really, most won't see it coming until it's too late. AIB is good for an early lead. Les
