You could very well be right on that Steve!

I am very interested to see what these joint agreement initiatives are all about. I asked a contact about this agreement and that if he thought it was Microsoft's agreement to integrate NDS (as was discussed earlier in this board). He said that he didn't hear about this initiative but he would fall over if Microsoft ever gave up on Active Directory and work with NDS. At best its likely an agreement to stop fighting about the directories and agree to make them link smoothly together. But that was only a guess on his part. We'll all find out next week - won't we.

I am very leery about any joint agreement that Microsoft would have with Novell. Why would Microsoft want to make any deals with Novell? I will have to analyze the details after I hear it but it almost sounds like an admittance of weakness for Microsoft. With Gate's mentality - the thought behind this agreement for Microsoft likely is "keep your friends close - keep your enemies closer". Wonder why I'm so suspicious?

Quad - I'm still holding to my prediction that there will be a price jump with NOVL early next week as a result of the Brainshare - my guess will be late Monday or early Tuesday (Monday is when the big-wigs make their strategic keynote addresses).

Two of our local staff are attending Brainshare (damn timing - I really had hoped on going the year).
