Ian,

Re: "However, you should keep in mind that the current numbers in the Book to Bill are Preliminary."

I am totally aware that the numbers are "preliminary", as is everyone else in the world! This is more than obvious and basically, to use your phrase, "inane drivel".

Re: "Nevertheless, all of us know, and most of us accept that the sector is in the middle of a major slowdown of unknown duration."

Exactly. And most of the semi-equips are saying they have almost no visibility. Last time we encountered similar "no visibility" conditions, many of these stocks traded at ~ 1.0 times Sales. TS

"is almost as ridiculous as Aki worrying about AMAT because MTSN warned.
AMAT spilled more on its anniversary party than MTSN earned during the past couple years."

while I realize that your sardonic lilt is something very dear to you... it is quite trying and somewhat misplaced... it is in actual fact pretty offensive, especially as my point was that the mtsn release talked specifically about the lack of liquidity in SEA and how it was hurting the biz as a whole... I was not comparing the two co.s par sai. I have now had the opportunity to read your missives on various other threads... and thought that you might accept a challenge rather that insult me, teri, or anybody else that you deem wrong.... as you may know robbie and myself had a disagreement about the direction of the market, but rather than resort to a slanging match we decided on a stock picking contest which is ongoing, and lasts until july 31st... it has proved to be easy to administer and illuminating for both of us... perhaps you would be willing to accept a similar challenge.... we could work out the rules off topic... and publish our selections on thread, then at least there might be a way of really judging the relative coherence of our positions.
