<<Joe, Unfortunately MSFT, CPQ, INTC and anyone else not involved in telecom has little to do with the deployment of DSL's. Until the RBOC's deploy (major expenditures here) DSL's of any flavor will remain a dream.>>

Gary,

Actually I forgot to add the RBOC's.

I have heard that the RBOC's have an interest in slowing the deployment of x.DSL. Although I don't have any information to support that.

But if it is true, I believe that they will have a hard time doing it this year due to all of the different parts of the industry that DSL will help.

Box makers, networkers, software, the movie industry, and just about every other part of hardware and software industry I can think of.

I have been in the telephone business all of my life, and I believe the telcos are arrogant.

You know, the RBOC's are in the ' catbird seat', but someone may come up with away to go around the telcos. There are ways.

Joe
