I guess COMS is not going to miss estimates. If they were, the management has a track record to pre-announce. What I fear is that the may have something to say about the next quarter, at least the way the stock price is behaving. But analysts may have their own spin. This market is searching for a tiny bit of positive news and will disregard a hurricane of negative news. Just one BUY for BAY and several EPS cut and downgrades did wonders to the stock.

NASD, Amex boards approve agreement on merger NEW YORK (Reuters) - The National Association of Securities Dealers and the American Stock Exchange Wednesday said their respective boards approved an agreement to merge the Amex into the NASD. The deal calls for the merger of the Amex ''into the NASD family of companies,'' the stock exchanges said in the statement. It would combine the Nasdaq, governed by the NASD, and the Amex, the nation's second and third-largest U.S. stock markets, respectively. The Nasdaq lists 5,466 companies worth $1.9 trillion, including high-tech heavyweights such as Microsoft Corp. and Intel Corp.. The market value of the 783 companies on Amex at the end of 1997 was $168 billion. Any decision on the proposed merger is subject to a vote by exchange members. o~~~ O
