Chinmoy:

You may get that price but not for precisely those reasons.

And though I am inclined to think LSI may indicate some sign of something in the next c.call, it's pretty tough for me to see a very large scale problem since they are not intimately connected with the PC industry.

Re: The networker's "woes" - again a tough one for me to believe though the warning signs have started. This kinds of things can turn on a dime but LSI's networking business is right now very very strong. If there is a problem here LSI is in doggy-doo for awhile.

The concern to me is if there will be any short term slowdown in the consumer electronics area. Though even there if Wilf is right and the set top boxes are growing again and the PlayStation continues to be strong and with the DVD ramp it is really tough to see a problem here as well.

They are ramping up on the GSM chip and I doubt it very much if that is going to be delayed.

Their high end storage is likely going gang-busters. That leaves as I've said before their "other" computer related areas which I don't know much about.

So any slowdown will be mitigated by the newer things coming on line. Doubt if we get a JBIL type warning - just not the same type of product lines or markets.

However as I mentioned we are approaching the time when everyone will soon be thinking the market is dangerously overvalued and even though the semis have been pounded pretty badly (and we have not budged) in a panic situation the prices will be overshot on the down side. That's for sure.

Then again we may have some sort of earnings rally when some may realize that the techs still have plenty of gas left in them.

Finally sometimes stocks rally on bad news. BAY was an example today. It seems to me that with many of the techs the pricing has gotten very low to tempt others to get in when they have a better understanding of the risks involved - this will come during earnings season.

Shane.
