Your point is valid up to a certain point. Both Lucent and AT&T have standardized most of their RDBMS needs on ORACLE, not IFMX. It was interesting to see this happen. Oracle hired away most of the Telco people from IFMX who made IFMX what it was in the industry. IFMX let them go without any effort to keep them. Then Oracle started to really win deals and HUGE site license contracts. Then SAP won a HUGE deal, based on ORCL. In the meantime, IFMX disbanded their telco sales group, their telco marketing, etc.

The win you are talking about is great. We need more! IMHO
