Jim and all: I want to thank everyone contributing to this board for taking the time to offer their insights...and doing it in a civilized manner!
Any comments on this....today's Wall Street Journal, P. B-6, (sorry guys I get my news the old fashioned way, on paper)
"Wireless Phones Poised to Roam Worldwide" The GSM telephone mfgs are trying to develop a phone that can operate in the US, as well as Asia and Europe. Presently, the one phone won't work on all continents because, although all are GSM standards, the GSM systems operate at different frequencies on the various continents. Ericsson will have such a telephone operating on both the 900 (the most widely used Euro and Asia standard) and 1800 (USA standard)megH. frequencies on market in the 4th Q. Not expected to be a big revenue producer for Eric. as its a small part of their market, but what are the implications for vlsi? Any opinions?
