I think Trimble would be valued around $1 billion in a takeover. I also think the time isn't right for it just yet. It wouldn't surprise me however, if some companies that are looking for a stronger foothold in the GPS market are buying TRMB when it goes into depressed levels. I'd rather not name names, because it would be pure speculation, but take a look at some large caps whose markets overlap somewhat with Trimble's, and there you would find potential buyers. But, I doubt a company would make a serious takeover attempt until GPS takes hold in the American automobile.
