Permit to drill granted
Mr. Whitney Pansano reports
The Mississippi State Oil and Gas Board granted the Petition of Canadian Delta (the wholly owned and operating subsidiary of Westfort Energy) for a permit to drill and produce its Pelahatchie Deep, unit 18-4, well No. 1 to a total depth of 17,300 feet subsurface to penetrate the Norphlet formation of Jurassic age on a drilling unit of 160 acres. The permitted location for the well is in the northwest quarter of section 18, township 5 north, range 5 east, Rankin County, Mississippi. Based on existing well-control and confirmation by seismic interpretations, the well at this location is expected to encounter in the Norphlet formation, approximately 90 net effective feet of high gravity oil and sweet gas.
The company will begin operations for the drilling of the permitted well in the immediate future.
