It would make no sense, imho.

One, Gehl just made an acquisition, already a surprise. If I were in charge, I'd focus on integrating Mustang. Further, if I were making an acquisition, WPEC wouldn't be on my list. They sell mostly Case products; you don't see, say, Harley buying up Yamaha dealers, do you?

The Yahoo post to which you refer infers that since James Dahl, who owned 8% of GEHL at last count, also owns 6% of WPEC, he'd merge the two companies. I think he more likely likes the construction sector.

It's worked for him (and me) for the last year or so; we'll see how it turns out. Housing starts look good just now, but I bet the numbers are skewed by the unseasonable weather, and will seem less impressive in a month or three.
