Most windows 95/98/NT systems will not be bothered. SOme programs running under windows will have problems. A lot of older DOS apps will fail the Y2000 test.

I assume you know the common tests.
1 Change the date to 31 st Dec, 1999 11:59 PM and then let it operate as it goes to the year 2000. Then see how your programs react after they capture the new windows date and use it. Takes some testing to make sure. There are lists of programs that have problems on the web.??

2 Same date change but turn the machine off, and let it go to 2000 while off. Then turn it on and see if it advanced OK. Repeat program tests.

Most word processors work fine. I advance my machine a few months ago and I am happily running on the year 2009 as we speak. I left the time of day the same but used the year 2009, as then all the days of the year match 1998, same time etc, and I just remember what year it is.
I never date my letters automatically and so that is no problem.
o far very few problems. Some public domain nag screens came alive.
