What you say gives man kind much more of a pat on the back than I give them, and so you have a much nicer view of history. I don't want to take that away from anyone.

But, jbc, the nice thought that humans were all just full of love at the time of the birth of Jesus--I think a really close look at history will show that it was about l80 degrees from
that. And for Buddha, it was basic godless rituals, and gong banging ceremonies by out of the far reaches of China. Sorry, not too much influence from China to Isreal in the year 2 B.C. I would almost imagine that the writings of Buddha were not even in existance at that time to be passed on. And as for wandering Buddhist scholars or monks, does history show a trace of any of that?

That is a man made thing of years later, translating that kind of stuff from language to language. It is an interesting point but historically to suppose that Buddha had innundated the planet with ood vibes, well, it didn't happen. Not in any history I've read. And I would doubt that many Chinese or Asians of any kind ever wandered to Isreal, of all places. That would be in Josephus, if at all.

Are you a student of Buddha? Many people are.
