NEW YORK, March 19 (Reuters) - Merrill Lynch said it downgraded America Online Inc to a near-term neutral from accumulate, keeping it as a long-term buy.

the analyst at Merrill was not immediately available for details.

No rumor. CNBC just ran a story on Merrill's downgrade to neutral, based on price.
