(offtopic) Dear missing - MADGF is my true waterloo! I bought it at the sucker breakout in Feb 96. Personally, while it may actually hurt my portfolio[since I am holding a big chunk of it at a great loss,] I would advise people to view MADGF as a trading vehicle for now until it can manage to return to profitability.

You all sound so pessimistic. I guess I'm just gullible and actually believe the company could have run into a 1 qtr problem.

The start of a new year - new budgets handed out - planning of what the IT departments should focus on this year - do they need to concentrate on Year 2000 issues or can they continue their network expansion......Adds up to the usual slowness in the 1st qtr

Next throw in the new decisions they have to deal with - all these new technologies to choose from - pick the wrong one and I've made a costly mistake which might cost my job - GE vs ATM, switches vs shared media, routers vs routing switches......Adds up to a little extra slowness

Plus a glitch in a new product ramp - Accelar - and putting most units out on an evaluation basis because it is a new technology......Adds up to a little more time needed to make a decision....

But I guess this is the same old story for BAY. They have no future, no value as a company. We should all just sell and bow before the mighty CSCO. Sorry just a little frustrated with everyone's negativity. I know this was a real problem, but 1 qtr is nothing in my investing horizon. I waited till the old regime left before investing in a big way and plan to be in for a long time.

Just my thoughts on the day after such drama........
