One thing to keep in mind about alternators. In most cases (especially with Japanese brand ie; Mitsibishi, nippondenso, hitachi) when they quit, 90% of the time a .10 pair of brushes is all it takes to fix them. Now if a manufacture comes out with a funkey design like Delco did with their CS130 series, thats a different story. Talk about the rape of the driving public. I was surprised there were not some class action lawsuites filed over that FUBAR (g). Ford had theirs also when the went to an internally regulated alternator. After about 4 design changes they may have a good product now. They were coming along about the time I sold the business.
