your right you are not a technician...they dont spend time doing correlations...may be a quantitative analyst...a technician would say AAPL falls back abit...earnings this Q is not the issue...its always the forward commentary

I use my short position to hedge my longs..I dont like to be 100% long at this mkt level...if we go down my portfolio will not fall as much and I will take profit on my shorts...the volatility in my portfolio is lower...and I only put on shorts after an extended rally which we have had...just the way I invest...so I dont care specifically about the AAPL but more about the overtone of the mkt...but I pick targets which can be affected by a sector downturn and try to get an extra run and in case I am run on the mkt top ...overall, I like my longs more than AAPL otherwise I would be long
