Andreas; Personally I would not wish to risk my stock being called
at a price below what I paid for it. I'm looking out in time,
and may write some Jan00 26 calls, if I get enough premium..
that's my average price so what I get for the calls is profit
in that time frame. And a hedge aginst more down side, as it
gives me cash..( looking for $7 )..makes my basis $19..and
if she goes that low I want more any way. I haven't studied
the puts yet, if I do write calls, I may also write some puts,
that either puts me in her cheaper, or renders a profit.
------------------------
The short term calls / puts are real ify..I may buy a few short
term calls early next week, I do see some short covering coming at the end of the month just to avoid the tangle of the dividend..shorts have
to pay the dividend on borrowed shares. It's not much but has
it's effect were large positions are held. That's a wait and see
thing. But if I do buy short term calls it will be a small position
and not held long.
