Dear BK - 1st Albany is a regional brokerage house. If I am to rank it, it is a bit above the likes of Olde but no where near DLJ, let alone the likes of H&Q in the tech arena and GS in general. A word of clarification, this is about their abilities to move stocks and do not necessarily show the accuracy of their estimates. Incidentally, in my mind, Messr Noel Lindsay, formerly of DMG, is still THE ax.

Anyway, actually, it did us [longs] a favor by lowering the expectation game. About 1/2 a year ago, I ve actually voiced the concern that everyone and one's mother-in-law have raised BAY ratings. When everyone is bullish, to me it may very well be true or it may be a sign of a top

RE product names, I was taught many years ago that before judging advertisements(and brand names fall under that heading), you need to know the objective of the advertising. You cannot judge it in a vacuum. While I am not privy to the objective, my take on the Accelar name is that it is a descriptor: It ACCELARates network speed for the end user. Since when is acceleration(think 1960's muscle cars) a feminine trait? Also, the suggestion of AccelGear speaks to what the product is(hardware), not its end benefit to the user(faster network). Just an old marketing guy's POV.
