I'm not a long term player! I've been in and out of PAIR at least two dozen times in the last year. I play on PAIR's volatility. I've lost more than I've gained because PAIR always falls back after an advance.

I currently have a small position in PAIR hoping it will break through its 21 1/2 resistance level with a nice pop to 23 or 24. It has tried to break out 3 or 4 times if you count the last one day pop, but has only succeeded in trading sideways to down.

My frustration comes from the fact that PairGain is the strongest player among it's competitors but it's not being rewarded with the high multiple of LU and others.

In fact, the street seems to like ADTN more than PAIR which confuses me, but... that's what makes a market.

I finally got an answer from the Goldman Sachs Analyst.
He says that the ROK release is a 1999 story, and while it's going to be very important for PAIR, the PGFleX/Plus splitter is the real story right now. If there are going to be any upside suprises, this is where they will be comming from. And he doesn't have any new thoughts on that yet.
So I suppose that PAIR will continue to trade in a somewhat predictable range and frustrate longer term investors a little longer. I've decided to continue trading the stock for now and will look at it for the long term a little later in the year.
For now I'm out of the stock with a buy target south about two points. Good Luck to All! R..

Eric,

You can't change his mind. Please, lets let this topic fade out and time will tell whether he is right or wrong.
