GO Starfire, GO Starfire, GO E10000, GO E10000
Sorry, I got carried away and I don't even own any SUNW right now, but
after options expire, I'll be looking to buy on any weakness in the
next few weeks.
Anyway, my manager just told us that we have been approved to buy an E10000 with 24 cpu's and NINETEEN GIGABYTES of memory to be installed within the next couple of months. We will be porting many major applications over there in the next six to twelve months.
I don't think we'll be replacing any NT servers :-(( with it, but we're consolidating our UNIX servers which now consist of Suns, IBM's and HP's. When it's up and running. hopefully it will cut down on the number of calls I get in the middle of the night due to some malfunction. Everything in it is hot swappable, so real easy to repair. Anyway, good luck to all SUNWer's.
P.S. Looks like +/-45 is the close price tomorrow.

Alok -

Thanks alot for your post - SUNW is a large holding of mine, too, and I, of course, have been a little unsettled by the recent volatility - especially since most of the tech press seems to think that the folks in Redmond can walk on water and that the rest of the industry (especially SUNW) will just fade away.

Hi Alok - Thank's for the report from MS. I also feel good that they continue to see SUNW as a "Strong Buy". Lot's of Open Interest on the April 50 calls. Maybe SUNW will break through this time and hold above $50.

EKS

(In the prior weeks' report on Server industry, the analyst had mentioned that he had seen numerous cases where more than 50 NT servers were being replaced by 1 Starfire, greatly reducing the cost of ownership)

Sweeter words than these I cannot imagine. Thanks for posting them.
