Prices range from $50 to $250 for the 820 phone depending
on the service provider. I think GTE San Diego
requires a 1 year-contract to get the phone for $100.
Airtouch San Diego charges $200-$250, including extra
charger and pouch, and offers a 50% discount on the
first 3 months' service fee. Wireless retail outlets
usually advertise $100-$150.

$179 may not be a bad price if the service plan is good.
Airtouch plans are $30-35 a month and 25-35 cents/minute once
all your included minutes are consumed.

Bottom line the 820 is a great phone!
