One technology stock I've been following on the VSE is Markatech Industries, V.MKD. A couple of years ago they were somewhat hot because of their Autonet product, but then there were some delays in beta testing the product and people lost interest for a while. Now they've retooled are things are perking up again. After they hit their 52-week low two months ago, the price has increased 166% as of Friday. MKD has three products:
- Autonet, a traffic citation device for parking patrol officers. It lets them access a car's citation history on the fly. There are a number of municipalities interested in their product, which is finished testing now and ready to sell.
- Touchmaster, a restaurant point of sales system similar to the ever-popular Squirrel system.
- CD manufacturing, their new venture. They'll be the third CD/DVD manufacturer in Canada, and the only one in Western Canada. They had a financing not long ago to raise cash for equipment and they'll be starting production in the coming months. They already have a major client, Spinner Records (largest independent record label in Canada) that can fill up much of their capacity. Investor Relations believes their earnings potential from CDs is greater than their current share price.

MKD has a thread at Silicon Investor.
