Reposted from Yahoo. >>Too many excuses. It was a good concept company, but it was ruined by the management. << No excuses were even mentioned by ANCR, they simply said they didn't get the order. ANCR is still under an NDA with SUNW and that's why the news release was so brief Also, management WAS the problem... if you've done your homework then you would already be aware that management was changed. >>First, its was Sequent << Sequents technology proved incompatible with ANCR's old switch, this is not true of the MkII. Why would they buy something that doesn't work with their products? >> then Hucom << Hucom is still a buyer >>SUNW<< SUNW apparently has their own agenda. So they chose a Ford, next company may chose a Porsche (ANCR)... FC will be a big enough market for more than one player and if Brocade goes public with an IPO later thsi year, as I heard, then I will invest in them also... I believe in FC, not one company over another >>The odds of it gets a good OEM deal becomes very remote now.<< based on what logic, insight or information? >> this baby will sink to under 5 unless it releases some good news soon.<< agreed! what a great chance to buy it at $5 rather than $9 ...or am I missing something here? >> Cost-effectiveness at moderate bandwidth is the name of the game. << Untrue, you have not been paying attention. There is no LOW end market for FC yet and won't be for many years. >>Look: consumers are pickier than before. It wants a low price. I just can't see how fiber channel fit into low end products even moderately high-end products. << Actually you're way off the mark here... ANCR has made it clear they are ONLY going after the high end of the market and the low end doesn't even exist yet... the high end of the market is buying NOW... check out sales of FC Drives from Seagate if you want a better grasp of how quickly this is being adopted. Mark By the way, lest no one forget, this is SPECULATION, not investing... buy INTC if you want to invest, but don't expect 20 times your money either.
